What Others Say About Her

B. Hanson

Our son's progress has been so incredible to watch, and now he's all about reading, which is a big shift in such a short amount of time. Melissa's been a breeze to work with and is super patient in explaining different skills and activities for us to try at home. She's not just a tutor; she's a role model, encouraging good manners and building character, which we have absolutely loved and been grateful for.
Melissa has gone way beyond what we expected in so many ways. She's boosting our son's confidence, shaping his character, and building his abilities each and every session. We feel so lucky to be working with her! Absolutely no regrets!!!

Do you remember when/how you remember when/how you learned to read? For many, it just sort of happens. For others, there needs to be more of a support system. How to make sense of the sounds, letters, words, etc!

If there is a student who needs that extra support, please know that Melissa Scott is the person to connect with. Melissa is a Master teacher and knows from years of study and experience how to fill in the learning gaps for those that just need a bit more guidance and confidence. I've been able to watch the magic that she has with students and reading. Don't hesitate. Rosemary Agneessens, Former Principal

I have worked with Melissa in the Kindergarten through 4th grade school setting for over 10 years. I have personally seen her shine in various roles such as a teacher, reading specialist, tutor, coordinator, and even in leadership roles as an impactful resource to fellow educators, parents and the community. Melissa is always in tune with the most up-to-date training when it involves student literacy. She is well-versed with targeting specific interventions and quickly identifies areas of strength and weakness. Melissa strives in analyzing the literacy performance and growth of struggling readers and builds on existing skills and knowledge to further support the individual needs of her students. She provides expert instruction, assessment, mentoring and advanced preparation with her tutoring program. Melissa always goes above and beyond to support, encourage and empower her.

Melissa has been such a blessing to my family! Three of my four kids (9, 13, and 16) have reading challenges to which Melissa has been able to offer sound instruction and guidance to meet each one of them in their various challenges and abilities. Melissa is brilliant at making reading instruction fun, inspiring, and effective. Melissa is also a woman of great character who expects children to be polite, kind, and do their personal best which I also place a high value on. We love Ms. Melissa!

We first met Ms. Melissa through a friend who recommended her when I mentioned my son was struggling with reading, writing and spelling. Upon our first meeting we all fell in love with her bubbly personality. We are a homeschool family who now meets weekly with her. It has been such a sweet partnership and together we have seen growth in our child's abilities and also in his confidence. Ms. Melissa will no doubt be one of those teachers that my son looks back on and says that she impacted him in great ways. After leaving tutoring one week (he ALWAYS leaves with a smile) but one particular week he jumped in the car and exclaimed, "After being with Ms. Melissa I feel like I can do anything!" If you're needing a tutor, support, encouragement and a sweet new friend our family 100% recommends Another Road Tutoring.

Melissa Scott has a passion for teaching struggling students to succeed in reading. A friend recently asked me to recommend a tutor for a middle school student who had fallen behind and was in immediate need of help. I didn’t hesitate to recommend Melissa and she jumped right in. Later I received the report that Melissa had made an amazing difference in a short time. Beside her teaching ability, Melissa is friendly and demonstrates a real love of kids. Her character is exemplary!

Melissa is not only an outstanding educator, but she is also one of the most compassionate and generous people I have ever met. Melissa has extensive training in, and extensive knowledge about, teaching children how to read and spell. She is extremely dedicated to her craft, her students, and their families; she goes above and beyond for those seeking her guidance and support. I have had the pleasure of working with and knowing Melissa both professionally and personally, so I know first-hand that she is someone who makes a difference in the lives of those around her.

Melissa and I worked together developing a summer school program for students with dyslexia or suspected of having dyslexia or other ELA issues. Melissa is always willing to take on a challenge. If she needs more information she will seek it. She is kind and compassionate. She will be a dedicated tutor for any student she serves.

Any student would be fortunate to have Melissa Scott as a tutor.  She's so much more with all her extra credentials & certifications.

Not all students learn the same way & Melissa is trained in multiple  language programs & applies ones that best fit each student's learning styles.  Brains are all wired so differently!  We don't all learn the same way.  I worked with Melissa when she was the reading specialist at Abia Judd Elementary for about 20+ years.
